Keywell is an app designed primarily to support carers of children with neurodevelopmental conditions to log, track, monitor and analyse and patterns of challenging and positive behaviours to understand how these might be affected by specific activities and medication.

Kickstand was engaged early in the startup’s journey, to design the Keywell brand and to design a Minimum Viable Product, an MVP. Survey data, collected from carers of children with suspected and diagnosed neurodevelopmental conditions, guided a series of facilitated usability testing sessions with parents and children with confirmed diagnoses.

During usability testing, participants were invited to interact with a design prototype, as we sought to understand the varied challenges they face, and how the app might best support them, their families, and their support network.

Usability testing at an early stage meant that the founder was able to test and validate key assumptions early and before investing in development.

“Kickstand was instrumental in helping move Keywell from an idea in my head to a working prototype that we could test with users. Having the combined power of Sophie behind the user research and Amanda’s creative vision, we were able to move through the process in an agile manner. Thanks Kickstand!”
