The team at CarExpert had identified the need to redesign their website homepage to better represent both editorial and commercial content.
The goal was to design a page which offered more flexibility and made better use of the space available on both desktop and mobile.
Armed with insights from a prior round of competitor benchmark usability testing we begun by restructuring the information architecture and content categorisation, providing alternate ways to access information and content with the goal of helping people find what they are looking for no matter the extent of their research to date nor their knowledge of the car market.
We then moved to high-fidelity design in Figma, creating a component design and clickable prototype building on CarExpert's exisiting design language. We included some refinement and optimisation based on UX best-practice and tested those designs on customers to esure they hit the mark before moving to build phase.
